“I STOP SAYING HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE AND I STARTED SAYING HOW FAR CAN I GO”
JOHN C. MAXWELL
You know when you start pursuing your dream you are all excited, you think about it every waking moment, you talk to everyone you meet about it, your family and friends wish you would shut up about it.
Year one, Year two you are still on fire, Year three the fire is still there but every now and then the flames have to be fanned. By the time year four rolls around you are asking yourself questions like:
- Should it take this long?
- Was the dream really my dream?
- Is everyone who has a dream as tired as I am?
- How much more should I invest?
- When will this dream be realized?
Then you take an inventory of where you are now and where you were before you started pursuing your dream.
- You have made decisions that would have ordinarily stomp you
- Your vocabulary is such that you can speak about most topics on a whim
- You are the go to person for advice
- You are being sought after by organizations to join them
- You have an exceptional reputation both locally and internationally
- You fail but you fail fast, recovering very quickly
- You are well known as an expert in your field
- You are now positioned to provide employment for others
- You are connected to global influencers
- You see the present and future through the lens of imagination but with the faith that what you see will happen
It’s time you ask yourself a new question: Who am I becoming because of how long my dream is taking?
Your dream needs you to become the person that can:
- See it happen
- Take hold of it as it emerges
- And hold the image of it because sometimes the manifestation of your dream is slower than you would like.
Your dream needs all of you and perhaps it’s not here yet because you are not finished becoming YOU!!
